Unlike many women, I’ve been excited to turn 30. Believe it or not, it’s true! I think many think it’s arrogant when people say they are “wise beyond their years” but I have always felt older than I really am, so finally getting out of my 20s is something I’ve looked forward to. Also, putting just one decade between my wife and I for the next 7 years will feel good! 😜
For my birthday, I wanted to get together with my favorite peeps, and eat a fancy meal! During the day, I chilled with Heather and opened gifts. She is an AMAZING gift wrapper and always goes ALL IN with a theme. She gifted me with the most perfect yellow gold and raw black diamond lariat necklace from Fox & Beaux. I may have told the owner what I wanted and then hinted strongly to Heather. (Hey, you don’t get what you want if you don’t ask for it!!!)
At night, we gathered at my girl Aubrey’s house for snacks and socializing. Since it was my golden birthday (I turned 30 on the 30th) and I’m an old lady, we had some fun Golden Girls props too!
Then, my other amazing friend surprised me with the most perfectly ridiculous 90s limo to take us to dinner at Nightbell. It was seriously epic.
It was my first time at Nightbell and HOLY MOLY it was so good!! We had the prex frix menu and it was super reasonable and really, really, really delish! We had their deviled eggs, served in shell, steak tar tar….mexican chocolate brownie, deconstructed s’more…it goes on and on! To end the meal, my beautiful friend Allie made cupcakes – she is an insanely talented baker and I’m pretty sure I had two.
If you need to host a large party for dinner out in Asheville, I really recommend Nightbell. We finished the night and one of Asheville’s best cocktail bars, The Vault, and then headed home to chug water and think about NYE!
It was a glorious night and I’m very thankful to all my friends who joined me – AND to my besties from afar who sent me a drink and paid for my meal – so very sweet!!!
