The last weekend of March I had the pleasure of celebrating the next bride in our gang, Caroline! Her shower created the occasion for a lovely NYC weekend with my favorite people.
To begin my weekend jaunt, I took the new super-cheap-on-time-easy-peasy United flight after work into Newark and had some quality time with my friend lady Mere. True story, Meredith and I once decided, while laying in a bunk bed in London, to not have conflict because we love each other. And we haven’t. Isn’t that cool?
Anyway, after my long-awaited arrival Mere and I wine-d ourselves while the rest of our crew slowly made their way to the UES. Saturday began early with delicious NYC bagels to start our journey to New Jersey! Caroline’s shower was in her parent’s home, where she grew up, and it was so beautiful! Her mom and sister hosted and the theme was centered around Caroline’s two favorite things: Cheese and Taylor Swift!
They created some beautifuuuul cheese boards (like gourmet status!) that we snacked on while drinking champers and playing some games. It was super fun to write down all our old memories from college. Caroline and I were in the same sorority and even lived together in the Delta Nu house together our junior year…those were the days.
Her mom served a beautiful lunch for us all and a family friend made an insane cake! It was the perfect event to shower our Caroline!
After everyone dispersed, we trekked back to NYC for dinner + drinks! Sunday was Court’s birthday so we had a quick brunch together before heading off to the airport. I don’t recommend Alice’s Tea Cup, but it was fun anyway.
On my way home, I experienced an important traveler’s first. I abandoned my bag in the airport for the first time! I celebrated our reunion with some important recovery foods, beer + cheetos.
This weekend I am off to the next #weddingseason event, my cousin Travis’s wedding in TN!
