Two Year Engage-iversary + Pre-Wedding Festivities

Two years ago TODAY, Heather and I got engaged!

Here are a few throwbacks from that day and that Thanksgiving when we went home (well, my home!) and celebrated. If you'd like to check out that whole post, with all the mushy deets, here ya go.

Since it's been ~5 months since we got married and 2 years since we got engaged, it seems about time to start sharing some wedding photos. Whadda ya think? You in? Cool!

In my mind, there are "pre-wedding" activities, and then the wedding and honeymoon, so that's how I shall organize it!

The first pre-wedding activity we engaged in (get it?? get it?!) was getting our marriage license! We went right when the office opened at 8 to be at work at 8:30 and neither of us expected to get so emotional! I took this selfie to document our early morning cry eyes.

A few days before the big day, our people started arriving and it finally became real! Of course, we had to eat at 12 Bones, tube down the Dirty Broad, and get all the out-of-towners together for a meal.

(I hope you guys like my sexy one-piece)

Friday afternoon, my lovely cousin Maggie and Aunt Jackie threw me a bridesmaids luncheon at the Ivory Road Cafe. The food was stellar and the company even better. For the event, I had the skirt shortened on one of my mom's outfits from the eighties, which felt kind of special! I am so grateful to them for the effort they went to to make me and my ladies feel special. It meant a lot to me to have that time with my friends and family before the craziness.

Later that afternoon, leading up to the rehearsal, it was absolutely pouring rain. Like, don't get out of your car, it's not worth it pouring. So we pushed it back 30 minutes, and magically the sun came out!

For the rehearsal dinner, we had our caterer pull her food truck up to the 2nd story "milking station " over the barn and had cocktail tables set up inside. It's a hard layout to understand, but I think our wedding planner did a great job utilizing the unique space.

To end the evening, my Aunts Tinky and Fran and Uncle Tom hosted an Ice Cream social for anyone that wanted to come. I always like to have the chance to socialize with people prior to the "big event" - seems to make it a bit more chill!

This last one may be the best photo of the evening, the little girls having some intense reactions their ice cream!

And that sums up the "pre-wedding" festivities!
