Five on Friday: March 11, 2016

Every time I do one of these I say that it has been a while...and it has!

Here's five things from this week:

ONE
After being gone for a week, I picked up Heather form the airport on Sunday and planned a pretty awesome date night. Honestly, it wasn't fancy or exciting, but it was relaxing and reconnecting, which felt really good. On the way back from the airport, we grabbed a drink and caught up from our time apart. When we got back home, I had dinner ready which we ate on the deck in our {new!} furniture and we just drank wine and talked until it got too cold to be outside! Super simple and lovely.

TWO
Speaking of decks....my absolute favorite thing in the world is to drink coffee outside in the morning. It is finally getting warm enough to do this and it makes me SO happy. It's the little things, no?

THREE
Sticking with the outdoors-based consumption of food and drinks, I loaded my Stanley cold pint with the Wedge's Iron Rail IPA (which they just started canning!!) and we took a beautiful sunset stroll the other day. I like making an event out of something so simple, it REALLY IS the little things.

FOUR
I get to have Easter with my niece this year! Having kids in your life makes you excited about things you never thought you would give a rat's a$$ about. (Daycare costs?! Front versus back-facing car seats?! Easter baskets?! Yay!)

I may even plan an Easter egg hunt, shit's getting real domestic around here.

FIVE
Saving the best for last.

Today, I am on my way to see my besties from college, who also just happen to be my besties from life in general. And, it's for a very good reason.

After college, my friend Andrea's younger brother Andrew died after fighting Neuroblastoma for 15 years. This Saturday, Courtney will run the Rock n' Roll Half Marathon in DC in his honor and has been raising money for Andrew's Army, the foundation named after Andrew.

AND AND AND!!!

You can still give to her CrowdRise. Follow the link here to donate!

That's all folks!
